Lived Their Life
I grew up in Kallyanpur, Dhaka, where my education first began in kindergarten at Deen KG International School. I don’t remember a lot from that time, but I know I used to enjoy life—even though life didn’t feel particularly meaningful to me back then. That’s what being a kid is like—living without worrying about the world around you. You’re free from thinking about the family concerns and can simply enjoy life as it is.
I enjoyed my life as well. I used to play with my friends, but only at school. Outside of that, I didn’t really have friends to spend time with—maybe because I was too young to go out, or maybe I was more comfortable being alone. And even today, I’m still more at ease when I’m alone.
No matter how much I enjoyed my childhood, it was shaped by my parents—strict parents. They were, and still are, not very aware of how to enjoy life as adults. They always kept pressure on their child, believing that increasing pressure and controlling a child’s life according to their own choices raises the value of their investment. But in some cases, it has the opposite effect.
And I… believing everything they said… was left with no choice but to live the life they chose for me.
